Lapeer Community Schools is excited to announce that Tom Matteson has been named the district’s new technology director.
Matteson takes over for Mike Priest, who has accepted a promotion within Oakland Schools as the technology director for Clawson, Lamphere and Madison schools.
“On behalf of the district, I want to thank Mike for all of his hard work over the past few years and wish him well in the next stage of his professional career,” said LCS Superintendent Matt Wandrie. “We look forward to working alongside Tom, who comes to us with impressive credentials. We’re excited to have him on board.”
Matteson brings superb technical skills from previously working in Clarenceville (Livonia) and Pontiac as a technology coordinator as well as having been a music teacher for 15 years prior to moving into technology.
“I have heard nothing but great things about Lapeer Community Schools and I couldn’t be happier to be here,” Matteson said. “Lapeer is doing a lot of amazing things across the district and I am thrilled to be part of those initiatives. I look forward to meeting as many people as I can and getting right to work on building those professional relationships in Lapeer.
